What's your story?  Let's Talk.

  • Have your children faced admissions discrimination in publicly funded Catholic schools or were admitted, but then not permitted to opt out of religious education as is your right under the Education Act (section 42. (13))?
  • Are you a non-Catholic teacher who has faced religious discrimination in hiring at a publicly funded Catholic school board?
  • Do your children endure a long commute to a distant public school, while being bused past a much closer publicly funded Catholic school?  Does a proposed school closure threaten to put your children in this situation?
  • Do you live in a community with under-enrolled public and Catholic schools full of split grade classes, when combining these would create a more cost effective fully enrolled school with fewer splits and the critical mass to support a better selection of programs?
  • Do your children attend a low enrolment public high school with a limited course selection, when combining that high school with a low enrolment Catholic high school in the same area would create a school with the critical mass to support the greater course selection found in larger high schools elsewhere?
  • Do you have special needs children who are not getting the supports they need, while a completely non-essential Catholic school system continues to be funded?
  • Are you or is someone you love suffering while waiting for a pain relieving or potentially life saving health care procedure due to health care under-funding, while a completely non-essential Catholic school system continues to be funded?
  • Are you a public sector worker who has had to endure a wage freeze or lost benefits so that Ontario can continue to fund massively wasteful duplication in the school system?
  • Have the religious divisions in our school system introduced significant racial or ethnic segregation in your community?

If any of these situations apply to you, we want to talk to you.  Email us with your story.  We want to document the price Ontarians pay to support unnecessary duplication and overlap in the school system.  It's not all about money.  It's also about fairness, compassion, and getting the highest quality public education system our money can buy.
