"In Ontario, as well as most of Canada, state-funded Catholic education is generally about as Catholic as an Orange Lodge meeting in East Belfast. ... The vast majority of Catholic teachers — while often decent and dedicated — are non-practising and even anti-Church. They are divorced, gay, abort and use contraceptives, live together, never attend mass, reject Catholic teaching, are indifferent or even hostile to the religion they are supposed to be part of. ... Maintain the Catholic system? Increasingly these days, this genuine Roman Catholic wonders why we bother."

Michael Coren, "Losing faith in Catholic education", Toronto Sun, 2012-02-24.

(A refreshing honesty about the Catholicity of publicly funded Catholic schools in Ontario.  Apart from the teachers, how many of the families using these schools in the present day actually attend Church on Sunday?  In most cases, not many at all.)
